Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's

I was getting emails, then they stopped.

If you experience any interruptions, please check your spam or junk mail box. If you still cannot find them, please contact us at contact@jointhekindnesschallenge.com. You've got this!

I signed up but have not received any emails yet.

Make sure you have reached your desired start date. Then, please do two things:
1. Check your spam or junk folder — many email providers are overzealous about marking non-spam emails as spam. Check your promotions tab if you use Gmail on the web.
2. Add contact@jointhekindnesschallenge.com to your address book.

If these steps do not resolve your issues, please contact us so we can further troubleshoot.

Help! I signed up for the wrong Challenge!

Simply email us at contact@jointhekindnesschallenge.com and we can change it to another Challenge.

Can I start the challenge anytime?

Yes, you can choose your own Day 1 to accommodate whenever you'd like to get started.  If you are doing the Challenge with a small group, please be sure to select the start date designated by your group's leader.

Do I have to tell my "person"?

You may choose to share with your target person that you're taking the Challenge, or you may choose to not tell them at all, or tell them when it's over. It is up to your discretion and your individual preference.

What if my person does not notice?

Don't let that discourage you. Some relationships take more time to heal than others. The Challenge is about changing your own heart and attitudes, so focus on what you can control and not on the target person's reaction if it's not what you had hoped for.

Can you provide some ideas for a gift journal?

Your gift journal can be such a wonderful act of kindness because it hits all 3 elements: nixing negativity, giving generously of your time and talents to create it, and praise through the words of affirmation. It can be as simple or as "crafty" as you like. Some purchase a special notebook and write in it each day (or at least as often as time permits). And even those notebooks range from a fancy journal to a simple notebook from the dollar store. Crafty types may choose to embellish with stamps, stickers, or pictures and create a scrapbook type of book. Or, it can simply be the notebook or cards with your written notes. You may find some additional inspiration on Pinterest - a search on gift journals, while not "kindness journal" specific, will provide lots of additional ideas! We encourage you to think what might be most meaningful to the person that you are focusing on for the Challenge - and ultimately, your praise and affirmations are what will be most important! Just one quick caution - our "targets" do not always respond in ways that we expect. So, take heart either way and know that your kindness will make a difference!
